Too much of a good thing can be bad Just ask anyone who was under one of the many storms that moved through our area this week Gardeners are now assessing the damage from torrential rain and wind-driven hail Ward County Extension Agent Mike Rose says the damage wasn t wide spread but those who were underneath the storm when the clouds opened up did get quite a bit of damage Mike Rose Ward County Extension Agent I think they need to wait until the weather breaks and and the yards dry out and they need to evaluate their plants to see how damaged they are Some of them may recover just fine and depending on how severe it is some of the damage I ve seen has been very severe some of those plants certainly they ll have to replace and they should be replaced Rose says the next few nights will also be a test for gardens and plants in the area Temperatures are expected to dip into the low 30s and he says if they drop lower than that frost could take its toll on vegetation
