Trees toppled cars dented fields washed out It was quite a series of storms that hit central North Dakota about 24 hours ago The south-central part of Ward County was hit by two sets of severe storms Steve and Deann Bigelow s farm just northeast of Makoti received Golf ball size hail and around two and a half inches of rain from the first wave The second brought another inch and a half of rain and one inch hail The Bigelow s pickup had some hail damage but most shocking to them was the all the water Deann Bigelow Makoti We have some crop land that was washed out and has water standing Our water holes are fuller for the cattle so that was good We had some trees that were standing in waterjust a lot of water Karna Lillebo KX News Have you seen that before Deann Bigelow Makoti No I have been married 16 years and I don t remember the water in some of the places that we can see it now today Just a few miles east at the Melvyn and Lucile Bergeson farm the same storm caused more damage The Bergeson s aren t sure how much rain they got because a hail stone broke their brand new rain gage But they say the golf ball and quarter size hail destroyed Lucile s flower garden and severely damaged the siding on their house
